Long Bio (200–250 words)

North Hallow is a Canadian folk trio dedicated to creating intimate, story-driven original music rooted in acoustic warmth, emotional honesty, and thoughtful songcraft. Formed in 2025, the band brings together three seasoned musicians whose combined experience spans folk, roots, choral music, and professional sound engineering.

At the heart of North Hallow are singer-songwriters AJ Gillette and Kay Francis, whose blended vocals and acoustic guitars carry songs shaped by lived experience, vivid imagery, and quiet emotional strength. Their writing favours clarity and restraint, allowing stories to unfold naturally and draw listeners in. Bassist Matt Remmer adds depth and subtle momentum, grounding each arrangement with precision and a strong sense of atmosphere.

North Hallow’s sound is intimate yet expansive—acoustic at its core, with careful dynamics and a strong sense of place. The band’s shared background in live sound and recording ensures performances that are sonically balanced and deeply engaging, whether in quiet listening rooms or on festival stages.

With a growing catalogue of original material, North Hallow creates music that invites attention rather than demands it. Their songs linger, offering audiences space to reflect, connect, and experience the quiet power of well-told stories.
